A limited edition signed Miami Indian lithograph by John A. Ruthven (American 1924 – ). Originally commissioned in 1973 by Miami University, internationally acclaimed wildlife artist John A. Ruthven was tasked to dignify the current Indian image. He consulted with Miami Tribe of Oklahoma Chief Forest Olds, Indiana Miami Chief William Hale, and Dr. Bert Anson, Ball State University History Professor. A promise was made to donate one print of Miami Indian to the Miami Tribe, but unfortunately Chief Olds did not live to see that promise realized. Signed on lower right, numbered 316/1000, and embossed with Miami University seal. This beautiful image is framed under glass in a two tone weathered frame with linen and teal mats.
