Weller Pottery Hand-Decorated Signed Frog

Item Details

A Weller Pottery large flower frog, with an incised Weller Pottery mark on its bottom. On the underside is an ‘sa’ for the artist and either a ‘4’ or an ‘h’. Please see photos for detail. Weller Pottery was first made in 1872 in Fultonham, Ohio. The firm moved to Zanesville, Ohio in 1882. Artwares were introduced in 1893. In 1911 the company shifted to commercial ware. By 1915 Weller Pottery was the largest producer of art pottery in the world.

Condition

no chips or cracks. There is a pre glazing dent in the top that is pictured. There is crazing on the piece.
