An antique Seth Thomas Adamantine mantel clock, circa 1880. The spruce Neoclassic style case features four celluloid half Ionic pillars with copper flashed brass bases and capitals flanking the dial, and the namesake Adamantine burl painted top and trim. The decorative brass feet are copper flashed, as well as the lion-head handles on each side. The paper dial has Arabic numbers and features ormolu center medallion and surround, all safe behind a glass door. The eight-day key wind movement strikes on the hour and half hour. The pendulum weight and key are included.
Condition
At the time of cataloging, EBTH was unable to determine the working condition of this item and it is being sold ‘as-is.’ Refunds based on the working condition of the item will not be issued. There are two hand-written notations on the back indicating previous servicing, and a foil sticker indicating a more recent servicing.
