Early Victorian Prattware Box
Item Details
A charming circa 1850s souvenir British stoneware prattware jar, with the hand highlighted transfer image on its lid of the Crystal Palace, part of The Great Exhibition of 1851, depicting ladies and gentlemen strolling the grounds of the then very modern building. The piece itself was made in England, by Crosse & Blackwell of London, as marked on the base.
Condition
Standard for its age, with chipping to the intersection of the top and bottom, a 1/4" chip to the underside of the lid, with crazing as well.
