A vintage Schumann porcelain plate, made in Arzberg, Bavaria, featuring a patriotic American bald eagle surrounded by thirteen stars. The plate is white with a gold tone border. The center of the plate is decorated by a maroon bald eagle surrounded by thirteen gold stars. The plate was made in Germany by the Carl Schumann Porcelain Factory, circa 1960-1970, judging by the green shield and crown logo marked on the bottom. The bottom also bears the blue crown mark of Ebeling and Reuss, the United State’s exclusive importers of Schumann porcelain. This deliberate marketing to an American audience explains the design featuring national symbols of the United States on a German made plate.
