Decorative Cast Iron Coal Scuttle and Shovel

Item Details

A decorative, cast iron coal scuttle, or hod, and wood handled shovel. The scuttle has a decorative, hinged lid covered in a cream colored enamel. The front of the scuttle slants downward. The lid is curved in front to accommodate the wooden handle of the shovel. The small hand shovel has a bronze tone metal scoop.

Condition

Wear consistent with age and use. The enamel shows some chips and cracks. The handle of the shovel is loose.
