Oil on Canvas Winter Landscape

An oil on canvas painting of a lovely winter landscape, signed by listed Illinois artist, ‘Ted Vognild’ and artist titled on the verso ‘February Afternoon’. The painting has been professionally cleaned and retains it’s original frame. The scene depicts a small yellow cottage, tucked away in a wooded and snowy mid-western landscape. Circa 1910-20. ‘Ted’ was a pseudonym for Illinois artist Edna Walling Vognild (1877-1961), who used the name of her husband to sign her works. Had a studio in Chicago and was awarded the All-Illinois Society of Fine Arts Award, Chicago, 1937.
