Mahogany Drop-Front Desk

Item Details

A well made mahogany drop-front desk with oxbow-fronted drawers. The case has an upper lid which opens and rests on lopers, which are activated with the movement of the lid. The desk interior reveals a partitioned interior with a fan-carved prospect door, flanked by pigeon holes above four shaped drawers with small brass knobs. Below are four drawers, all having brass bat-wing pulls and key escutcheons. The case rests on four bandy legs with claw-and-ball feet. Retains original dark finish. Circa 1940s.
