Barton Herpburn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chase National Bank; The National-Bank Act (1917), a government publication; A Forum on Finance (1940) edited by George B. Roberts; and finally the more politics-oriented Smoke Screen (1940) by former Indiana Congressman Samuel Pettengill, written on the eve of World War Two to urge America to turn away from both National Socialism and Marxism.
