A photogravure of The Affair of Honor by Emile Bayard, circa 1886. This unusual print was very popular in the late 1880s and is based on a painting which appeared in the Salon of 1884. It shows two prostitutes, stripped to the waist, fighting a duel. A worldwide popular sensation, the original traveled around the world for public display and the image even appeared on cigar boxes. This captivating piece is framed in a black frame with a white and black mat surrounding the image and name plate insert.
