Book of Alphonse Mucha Posters

A softcover book entitled ‘Posters of Mucha’, containing reproductions of posters by iconic Czech Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). Nearly all of the examples in this book feature young women as subjects, and incorporate many of the hallmarks of Mucha’s art and Art Nouveau in general, such as dramatic sweeping curves, circular shapes, and natural themes. There is a short biography of Mucha and a timeline of his life at the front of the book. Published in 1975 by Harmony Books of New York.
Condition
- most of the pages are in good condition, however the book overall has been listed as “Fair” because at least one page has been cut out entirely, another depicting the four seasons as women has Spring cut out, and one page is detached but included. The front cover is slightly battered and some of the pages have minor stains.
