A breathtaking turn-of-the-century S. Kirk & Sons large sterling silver holloware lidded sugar bowl in the Castle pattern having an urn-like shape on spreading foot, a repousse chased elaborate design boasting castles and blossom details. Its lid is topped with a cluster of grapes finial and the compote is adorned with squared ear-like double handles accented at the corners with a relief ram mask. Marked ‘S. Kirk & Sons Ltd .925/1000 112’ to bottom.
