An original pencil on paper nude by John Regis Tuska (New York, 1931-1998), circa 1978. This painterly pencil and charcoal drawing depicts a reclining nude expressed in soft lines with attention paid to the effects of directional lighting on the subject. An internationally acclaimed artist, Tuska is known for his painterly depictions of nudes via sculptures, paintings, and reliefs and are highly sought after. His work expresses the influence of the late Impressionist movement of French artist Rodin. This piece is showcased in a black wooden frame with the drawing floating on a white mat.
