A Louisville Slugger Hillerich and Bradsby Signature Series Jackie Robinson Pioneer jersey is in this lot. This jersey is number 1 of 1000 produced in 2003. The jersey is bright yellow with black trim and lettering; a shoulder patch has, ‘MVP 1949’ and a stitched facsimile of his autograph is on the front left breast. The original tags are still attached, this jersey has never been worn. Jackie Robinson broke the ‘color barrier’ in professional baseball in 1947. He played for the Kansas City Monarchs, a team that was part of the Negro Leagues, and then went on to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1947-1956. He was inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1962.
