A Herend Hungary, blue fishnet, porcelain elephant. This elephant with swinging trunk, was created by artisans, and hand-painted with the famous fishnet decor, using 24K gold accents. The fishscale design, now signature Herand, first took form in 1858 when a Herend painter became inspired by a fishscale design on a Chinese porcelain plate and painted a similar pattern on a rooster to imitate feathers..
