A signature card of esteemed American cartoonist Thomas Nast (1840-1902), considered by many the Father of American Cartoons, among his notable accomplishments are the foundation for the modern version of Santa Claus, as well as the elephant as the symbol of the Republican party. A great piece, signed 1877, on wove paper. Housed in matting with a reprinted cartoon. Please note that EBTH does not authenticate signatures; this example has been compared to examples online and we believe it to be authentic. Good-very good, light wear, a little toning to the signature paper.
