A wonderful mid-20th century bronze sculpture by listed Canadian artist Esther Wertheimer (1962- ) depicting a beautiful pair of ballet dancers in the act of dancing. This small yet lively tabletop piece is mounted on red and white marble and signed in the cast. Ester is quoted in Ask Art as saying, ‘In creating my sculptures, I use dance movement to express a feeling of delirious visual excitement. My objective was to transform bronze into a symbol of the spirit – inanimate material into pulsating beings.’ – Esther Wertheimer
