A signed Philip Cheney (1897-1992) stone lithograph landscape print titled Steamboat Rock. Cheney was an American painter, printmaker, and illustrator who was known for his landscape work. This lovely piece depicts a small house on a hill. A serious of tall cliffs loom in the background under a mostly cloudy sky. The sun shines brightly from the right, and silhouettes the horses, trees, and brush that decorate the land. A dead, leafless tree is highlighted to the bottom left. The artist’s signature is present to the bottom right in pencil.
Condition
- Please note that the white border surrounding the image is slightly yellowed.
