A Bernard Segal abstract painting, dated August 1969. Segal (1907-1986) was a New York and Pennsylvania artist known for both figural and abstract painting, collage, and illustration. He was a cartoonist for the government-issue newspaper 10-SHUN during WWII; he worked under the pen name Seeg. He was also the author of the comic strip ‘Hank and Honey’ that appeared in the New York Herald Tribune during the 1940s and ’50s.
