Original Roland Huston Oil on Canvas Landscape Painting
Item Details
An original landscape by well-regarded Cincinnati painter Roland Huston. Huston was revered as both a academician and painter. He was a teacher from 1987 until 2005 and also famously studied under Paul Chidlaw at the Cincinnati Art Academy. The artist’s relationship with his teacher continued far beyond their years at the Art Academy, however. He passed away in 2005 at the age of 69 and is remembered by many as a solid teacher, artist and friend. This painting is a thoroughly interesting foray into the realm of landscape painting, the canvas rife with brooding undertones, mainly in the forefront where the ground is colored with deep purple grays and brickish browns. Two groves of trees tower like silent waving watchman suspended in the breeze, the blue sky, perforated with impasto traces of white swirling all about them. The painting is signed by the artist to the upper right-hand corner and comes to you unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation.
