Vintage French Bauer Glass Advertising Globe

A wonderful piece of local ice cream advertising—a vintage French Bauer double-sided glass advertising globe. The double-sided globe is in white glass with the French Bauer name in blue and ‘Ice Cream’ in bright red. A red and blue border sets off the center graphics. This globe was lite from within and was used to advertise the company’s ice cream at Cincinnati ice cream parlors. French Bauer Dairy of Cincinnati existed from the late 1800’s until 1979. French Bauer was started in 1842 by Thomas French, when dairy farmers were still the in neighborhoods of Walnut Hills, East End and some parts of the West End as well. Thomas and his sons had their dairies in Hyde Park, Oakley, Clifton and Newport. The company’s headquarters were located on Central Parkway in downtown Cincinnati.
