A Handsome 19th Century American Corner Cabinet
Item Details
A very handsome 19th century American corner cabinet in poplar with a lovely patina, canted corners and nice detailing at the cornice. The deep dimensions of this cabinet are noteworthy, providing a generous amount of storage. The top section has glass doors allowing for display on two shelves and the bottom cabinet has two doors opening to reveal two shelves for additional storage. Two side by side drawers in the center have fitted interiors and wooden handles. The cabinet has seen some restoration over the years. The glass doors have been replaced and the interior at the top portion of the cabinet has been painted a very attractive (and appropriate) slate blue while the cabinet at the base retains the original white milk paint. The corner cabinet is elevated on straight feet that extend from the sides with decorative inside corners. Please note (for moving purposes) that the cabinet is one-piece construction.
- Professional movers are always recommended or help will be required for pickup. An appropriate vehicle will be necessary. Item is not available for transfer to any EBTH warehouse. Item must be picked up locally by winning bidder during the published pickup times.
Condition
The cabinet has a good finish, the doors and drawers function beautifully. The painted interior shows wear as one would imagine. There is slight damage to the inside corner at the right leg. Overall, the antique cabinet is both attractive and very functional.
