A beautiful oil on canvas original portrait by well listed artist Annie Sullings Gooding Sykes (Ohio, 1855 – 1931). Attractive piece capturing the attention of the viewer. The young woman with cup of tea is looking out to you undisturbed from her comfortable setting. Sykes was a student of Frank Duveneck (1848-1919) based on his teaching of dark, realistic and direct style of painting which our portrait reflects. Signed in the lower left. The piece is presented in a gilt and wood frame.

Condition

Back shows two areas of very good repairs were made long ago based on the color of the canvas.
