Ted Jones Nude Female in Bathroom Gum Print

A 1989 gum photographic print titled of a nude female in bathroom by Ted Jones (American, 1927-2007). Jones was a member of the American Army Corps during WWII and attended Penn State University for Journalism and Advertising after his service. He relocated from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. to pursue television production on several NBC programs. In the 1970s, he began his freelancing careers with videography and black-and-white photography, appearing in Time, Fortune and Life magazines along with several exhibition appearances. Jones was talented in 19th century non-silver and gum photographic processes, often referred to as ‘The master of the contemporary gum process print’. Today, his work belongs in several permanent collections, such as the St. Louis Art Museum, the University of New Mexico Art Museum and the James A. Michener Museum of Art. The monochromatic blue tone print depicts a nude female from behind, with her left leg bent on the bathtub ledge as she dries herself. The print is signed and dated in pencil to the bottom right. Unframed.
