An original oil on masonite painting by well listed portraitist Dr. Wesley Kime ( Ohio & California, b. 1929). Easily recognized for his modern sensibility, energetic brush strokes, and effectively suggestive color, the doctor’s paintings speak to sophistication. This portrait features an epic depiction of a staunch Union Soldier of the Civil War Era. The brim of his hat is painted as stark as the light in his eyes. His mutton chops speak of determination, his right hand firmly clenching his rifle, his eyes too are full of black powder and steel. Signed to the bottom right hand corner, unframed, and awaiting your choice of presentation.
