Inuit Soapstone Sculpture by Paulosie Kanayook

An Intuit sculpture carved from a single piece of polished soapstone, by artist and hunter Paulosie Kanayook (b. 1942). The sculpture depicts a barefoot, kneeling Inuit person. The base of the sculpture is unpolished and the bottom is carved with the name of the artist, as well as ‘(C80)’ and ‘1 884112’. Kanayook is known for ‘Hunter with Seal’, a sculpture in Queen’s Park in downtown Toronto, Canada.

Condition

A couple light scratches.
