A woman’s vintage French fashion and art magazine, the Christmas 1938 edition of ‘Plaisir de France,’ highlighting fashion, accessories, interior design, entertaining, fine jewelry, and everything which a refined woman of means would delight to posses or at which she would prefer to excel. Bound in red paper designed to mimic leather with gilt titled cover and spine and ornate foliate embossed border. Superbly executed and abounding in black and white illustrations, black and white and color ads, and tipped-in color plates. Features articles, short stories, pictorial surveys, and a ‘Tendresse Maternelle’ (motherly love) photo spread whose images are inspired by historical masterworks, included on the pages.
