An Underwood Noiseless typewriter, manufactured by the Underwood Elliot Fisher Company. Model is possibly the No. 5, Noiseless Standard, 1920-1930’s. Underwood patented the ‘noiseless’ state, accomplishing the best sound reduction, by modifying the action of the type bars to stop precisely at the platen.
