A complete three volume set of the 1890 printing on wove of ‘History of the World’ by John Clark Ridpath, published in Cincinnati by The Jones Brothers Publishing Company and sold uniquely by subscription or door-to-door, to include Volume I (‘Hellenic Ascendency-Oriental Monarchies’), Volume II (‘Roman Ascendency-Dark Ages’), and Volume III (‘Middle Ages-Renaissance-Revolutions’). Hardcovers bound in quarter red leather binding with red leather corners and gilt titled embossed spine with four raised bands, richly marbled in the nonpareil pattern on end papers as well as page edges and featuring profuse color plates, maps, sketches, and diagrams throughout.
