Peter Moran Etching After H.W. Robbins "Where Noble Elms Abound"

Item Details

An etching by well-listed artist Peter Moran (1841-1914), an influential figure in late 19th century Philadelphia high society, after the painting ‘Where Noble Elms Abound’ by H.W. Robbins (1842-1904) with both signatures etched in plate and in type underneath the image. This wonderful black-and-white etching features an absolutely beautiful countryside scene with ancient elm trees, their leaves hanging down over a smattering of cows, along a perfectly idyllic pathway. An old fence stands behind them on either side, charmingly dilapidated and an old farm house hides in the shade of the trees. Title in print to bottom right-hand corner and presented beneath glass in a silver tone frame with braided border in relief.
