Burley Winter Pottery Bean Pot

A vintage Burley Winter Pottery bean pot. The bean pot is in the distinctive Burley Winter blended glaze, in a matte celadon green and pumpkin, and the pot displays a squat form with straight shoulder, recessed top with ringed and recessed lid, rolled lip and arched side handles. The vase is marked ‘2 qt.’ to the verso. The Burley and Winter Pottery Company was a great American pottery company located in Crooksville, Ohio. BW started its business in 1872 and it lasted until the mid 1930’s. Like many American pottery companies no longer in business, BW’s early items included functional stoneware utility vessels.
