A pencil-signed lithograph ‘After the Rain’ by contemporary listed Cincinnati artist Robert Fabe (American, 1917-2004). Robert Fabe was born in Chicago, Illinois and studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, where he studied under Herman Wessel, John Weis and Louise Abel. He best known for his atmospheric watercolors, which feature urchin-like children playing among wind-blown beach scenes or decaying urban environs. This lithograph is typical of his work, with children playing on a rainy urban street with white-washed rowhouses and a darkening sky. The piece is pencil-signed to the lower right and includes the penciled title to the center. The litho is finished under glass in camel and brown mats and a dark wood frame.
