Antique Late 1800s Eastlake Era Chest

Item Details

An antique late 1800s Eastlake era oak chest of drawers, circa 1880, utilizing pin and cove dovetailing, also known as Knapp joinery. The use of rectangular hardware and the unique dovetailing are consistent with Eastlake furniture of that time period. The chest features a simple profile, six drawers, resting on simple square feet, with casters.

Condition

The finish is flaking, scratched and worn. There is dark staining and water rings on the top surface. At one point, the upper right corner was cut off at an angle. Two handles are broken, one handle is missing a screw, and one drawer is missing the decorative lock cover.
