Signed Wishon Harrell Modernist Stoneware Vase
Item Details
A signed Wishon Harrell stoneware vase in an elongated cylindrical form and in a modernist style. The vase is in a matte blue glaze with oxide spots and features two brown glazed bands both to the top and to the base. The bands are designed with abstract oval and drip forms in the matte blue glaze. The vase has a rolled lip and is signed to the verso ‘Wishon Harrell, Muncie, Ind.’ Wishon Harrell pottery was created by two artists in the 1990’s in both Muncie, Indiana and San Diego, California. Jim Wishon hand threw the clay on the wheel and Jerry Harrell decorated the pieces. Harrell died in the 1990’s, ending the excellent stoneware collaboration.
