Original Greg Storer Oil on Academy Board Painting
Item Details
An original oil on academy board painting, signed to the lower right-hand corner by well-reputed artist and art educator, Greg Storer (1956- ). The artist has shown prolifically in the Cincinnati area and, at one point, would have seemed to have been represented by Closson’s. The artist is well-known for giving private art lessons to aspiring artists of all ages. A link has been provided to the artist’s website which gives a thoroughly detailed history of his career, which would appear to be an extensive span of intensely creative activity. This painting is absolutely exemplary of the artist’s intuitive eye, and somewhat unconventional approach that blends a synthesized love for the great Impressionists (i.e. Monet), while also lending a nod for Modernists like Hans Hoffman. One can even feel the meditative chill of great painter Mark Rothko. In this picture, the artist has rendered a house bathed from the back in a pure and golden sunshine. The daylight in suburbia is fading, and the sensation is palpable. The painting’s presentation matches its quality with a beautiful gold gilded frame of wood.
