Item Details
An original ‘U.S.S. New York in 1898’ oil on board painting, signed by Joseph A. Wilhelm, Jr. (Louisiana, 1923-2003). At the age of fifty one, Joseph Wilhelm turned his life-long ship modeling skills to full time painting, resulting in distinctive, realistic nautical art. The U.S.S. New York is shown at anchor at the time of her return from the Spanish-American War (please see artist’s notes on the reverse side of painting). Painting is finished with a gold tone wood frame.
Condition
Very few small nicks in wood frame.
