West German Gerz Stein with Portrait
Item Details
A West German Gerz ceramic stein in pale gray glaze, and featuring to the front black rectangular panel a bearded soldier with tall embossed helmet topped with feathers, and wearing a gray and red uniform. The panel is bordered with beige scalloped bands. The back of the stein is decorated with a black and white striped panel. The stein has a bright pewter lid marked ‘OBGM65’ to the inside. The stein is marked to the verso with ‘Gerz W. Germany 10’ and a triangular mark.
