1948 Rookwood Pottery Pheasant Figural

A 1948 Rookwood Pottery pheasant figural in wine madder gloss glaze. This striking piece was designed in the 1920s by Rookwood legend, Kataro Shirayamadani. The bird is beautifully detailed with defined embossed feather patterning and is marked to the base with the Rookwood Pottery flame logo, ‘XLVIII’, and mold mark ‘2832’.
Condition
no chips or cracks, crazing typical of glaze
