1946 Rookwood Pottery Devil Ash Receiver

A 1946 Rookwood Pottery devil ash receiver designed by James Bain. Bain started working at Rookwood Pottery in 1903. The ash receiver is in a matte cream glaze and the piece depicts a fierce visage with open mouth, furrowed brow, open ear handles, and round horns. The ash receiver is marked with the Rookwood Pottery flame logo, ‘XLVI’ and mold mark ‘2457’ to the verso.
