19th Century Wood Veneer Tonk Piano Bench

A 19th Century wood veneer piano bench seat made by Tonk Mfg. Co. of Chicago, Illinois, founded in 1873 by Max Tonk, a wood carver. They became the country’s leader in piano stools and bench, when were made by the company until 1950. This piano bench seat lifts to a two section storage area. The lines are simple but elegant. The original company tag remains on the inside lid. Nice solid sturdy piece.

Several sizeable chips to veneer.
