Original David Schmidlapp Photographic Diptych
Item Details
An original photograph by well reputed New York photographer, filmmaker, and performance artist David Schmidlapp. The photographer has had an intensely interesting career, although where exactly it’s taken him is difficult to discern. Schmidlapp was at CBGB’s in 1988 and managed to snap a crucial photograph of Debbie Harry performing with Talking Heads offshoot Tom Tom Club. The artist has also worked with avant garde noise musicians, projecting films in tandem with performative music. A link is posted to his website, so that the interested buyer may research to their heart’s content. In this astounding diptych the artist has framed a trio of modern American infantry men posing on a suburban lawn alongside a lawn ornament of the Statue of Liberty. The lower photo depicts a gruesome image of three horse teeth photographed up close against a sharp and piercing black background. The photos are presented in a silver toned metal frame with a single white mat cut sectionally.
