Original David Levitan Phase 3 The Hypersurrealist's Execution

Item Details

An original Acrylic on masonite painting by well known psychedelic surrealist Daved Levitan. The artist is most well known for his album art, namely for French recording artist Jean-Luc Ponty (born 29 September 1942) virtuoso violinist and jazz composer. This incredible painting is part of a triptych entitled ‘The Creative Process Triptych,’ and is the third panel entitled ‘Phase III – The Hypersurrealist’s Execution.’ The painting is signed, dated, and titled to the verso 1978. The artist has composed an absolutely phenomenal image that’s indeed very true to its title. A lone figure with elongated limbs skates on blocks of ice on a checkerboard floor inside an arcade of some sort. The figure, the hypersurrealist, is bent at the waist, its arms extending forward into infinity, into a mirror of eternal repetition. This enigmatic and evocative image is executed on a circular piece of masonite, with hanger to back.
