Royal Copenhagen "Sandman" Figurine 1145 Gilded

A wonderful Royal Copenhagen vintage ‘Sandman’ figurine, with an early mark c. 1923. This represents a character from the Hans Christian Anderson line of Danish folklore. Designed by Juliane Marie, the figure in a burnished gilt cap and robe carries an umbrella and has a real air of mystery to it. See photo for maker’s marks on bottom.

Condition

The boy carries a small flask of sand (presumably). It has a rough tip as if it may have broken off, but as seen on other examples of this figurine, there doesn’t seem to be anything missing.
