American Tonalist painter Charles Warren Eaton was renowned for his moody, atmospheric landscapes and mastery of light. Mentored by George Inness and trained at the Art Students League, Eaton frequently traveled throughout Europe, drawing deep inspiration from his time in Italy. His visits to Venice yielded serene, light-filled canal scenes that beautifully showcase his signature subtle palette, delicate brushwork, and contemplative focus on shadow and water.
