Antique Bronze Over Silver Japanese Tea Set

Item Details

A late 19c Japanese tea set, made of bronze over silver. Bronze has a stippled texture. Set includes a teapot with lid and bamboo or vine handle, a lidded tea caddy, a tea strainer bowl with silver top, five saucers and a spoon holder. There is also a small teapot with a missing lid and wrapped handle. (Note that purity of silver is not known, and pieces have not been weighed). Includes original packing box. Incised mark to underside.

Condition

Inside of small pot with no lid has the most tarnish.

Dimensions

Size of teapot with vine handle. Crate is 19" wide, 13.5" deep, and 9.5" tall.
