Original Tom Lohre Oil Pastel on Metal Painting
Item Details
An original oil pastel painting by art innovator Tom Lohre. This painting is titled “Telford Avenue III.’ and was created by melting oil pastels onto the metal surface. The method used in creating this painting, which is a reinterpretation of an earlier methodology, is very similar to that which is carried out by the painting machine invented by Lohre using Lego’s Mindstorm Invention System in 2003. This method of painting claims to make the most of the least, the artist uses a crayon maker to mix new colors, and then melts these onto the metal surface using a hot plate. This method that Lohre has created is impressive and unique. This painting depicts the iconic Clifton (Cincinnati) street beautifully coated in the soft white blankets of wintertime, quite nearby Graeter’s and The Esquire Theater. Lohre claims to be the first to have ever painted a spaceship from life; he also painted the eruption of Mt. Saint Helens from life. The painting is presented in a wooden frame with illustrious gold gilt, and ribbing all around the inner edge.
