A vintage late 20th-century Chinoiserie style black lacquered accent cabinet. The two-door chest showcases dimensional hand-carved soapstone and mother-of-pearl high-relief appliques depicting Chinese figures within an architectural pagoda garden scene. Decorated throughout with hand-painted gold key-fret details, the cabinet features an upper pair of drawers with geometric brass pulls over a spacious double-door storage compartment. The top surface features a hand-painted scene of birds among blossoming peony branches, with the entire piece elevated on short corner bracket feet.
