This hand-hooked accent rug features a traditional American folk art design. The central rectangular panel is executed with a black ground that highlights a dense floral arrangement consisting of pink, purple, and yellow blossoms with green variegated leaves. A wide, contrasting light tan border encircles the central panel, accented with subtle trailing vines and corner floral motifs. The entire composition is finished with a thin black outer border. Constructed using yarn drawn through a coarse foundation, the looped pile gives a textured surface finish. The reverse shows the structural undersides of the loops and a fabric binding tape stitched down along the outer borders.
