This hand-knotted Persian Kashmar wool area rug features a traditional pictorial hunting motif from the Khorasan region. The central composition centers on an elongated, multi-lobed green medallion accented by scrolling floral vines, set against a rich crimson red field densely populated with palmettes, rosettes, and integrated representations of stags and wildlife. The corner spandrels are executed in a contrasting light olive green, leading to an expansive main border decorated with repeating cartouches containing animal forms and scrolling foliate elements. Woven with a dense wool pile on a cotton foundation, the textile concludes with hand-wrapped edges along the sides and a short cream fringe along the endpoints. The reverse side reveals the hand-tied knotting structure and a small commercial label remnant.
