This antique American Victorian Rococo Revival gentlemen’s armchair was crafted during the mid-19th century from solid walnut wood. Showcasing the romantic, fluid curves defining the height of high-Victorian parlor design, the chair features an expansive balloon backrest adorned with classic deep-set button tufting. The hand-carved crest rail is highlighted by delicate floral clusters and naturalistic scrolls, a motif that repeats down the cabriole front legs and along the scroll-carved arm terminals. The chair is dressed in a seafoam green floral damask upholstery, outlined in a coordinating decorative gimp trim.
